Accounting Manager

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced, results-oriented Accounting Manager in our Lenexa, KS office.
As the Accounting Manager you will be an intricate part of every aspect of our accounting functions. You will be expected to spend the first 3-4 months actually performing and rotating through the A/P, A/R, and Payroll areas to learn them thoroughly before you assume management responsibilities.
You will need to put the hours in to get the job done and work toward learning every aspect of our accounting procedures with the opportunity to one day manage the entire department.
DESCRIPTION
• Manage a team who process daily transactions in the areas of Accounts Payable, Receivable and Payroll
• Assist with month end closings for five Divisions, including data accumulation and analysis
• Support company management in overall planning in regard to budgeting
• Prepare monthly comparative analysis reports of actual project costs and budgets, and overall company progress to budgetary goals
• Work with operating divisions to manage collections.
• Oversee and supports the filing of all legally required forms, reports and returns including, Stockholder and Board of Directors reports and filing, Payroll, Sales & Use Tax and Income reports and returns and any other as may be assigned
• Perform other related duties and projects as assigned
• Maintain current professional and technical knowledge
REQUIREMENTS
• Degree in Accounting
• 3+ years experience in all areas of Accounting
• Previous management experience with high performing teams and developing people
• Experience preparing financial statements
• Project management skills
• Strong Excel skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as analytical problem-solving skills
• Strong customer service skills
